George Sadler

There are a lot of stereotypes that surround cannabis. But a stereotype less commonly associated with cannabis is that of generational, corporate wealth. In the case of father and son business owners, George Sadler and Cody Sadler, the establishment of their family-owned cannabis business was anything but stereotypical. In less than a decade, this father son duo have bootstrapped to the top of the industry, having built a $70 million dollar cannabis empire across California and Michigan that’s showing no signs of slowing down.

In 2010, George’s 20-year-old son, Cody, brazenly approached his dad about starting a cannabis business. Trusting his young son’s entrepreneurial spirit, both Sadlers sold their dirt bikes and set up their first cannabis grow in George’s 10×10 garage. With no previous experience in harvesting cannabis, Cody turned to Youtube to learn the ins and outs of growing cannabis. George, a longtime serial entrepreneur, helped set up a corporation, making sure their business was legitimate in the eyes of the law — or “legit” by cannabis standards.

In the coming years, George and Cody would go on to experience the industry’s rollercoaster-like highs and lows. From opening a successful retail store-front in San Diego to surviving a raid, George and Cody are legacy players who have helped shape legal cannabis markets. Despite the raid, Cody quickly came back to George with another idea: manufacturing oil vapes and cartridges. Like he had done since the beginning, George supported Cody’s vision, having also recognized the growing demand for disposable cartridges. The Sadlers spent nine months searching for the right chemist, perfecting the extraction process and hardware, before they managed to successfully manufacture their vape, Platinum Vape

Cody Sadler

In 2010, when Cody Sadler was a 20-year-old college student, he began researching what it would take to start a cannabis business. He managed to convince his dad, George Sadler, to join in as a business partner. By 2012, they sold their dirt bikes and set up his first grow in George’s 10×10 garage. Before turning 30 years old, Sadler perfected his harvest, started a successful delivery service and opened a retail store-front in San Diego.

With ample success in retail, Sadler recognized another business opportunity: manufacturing oil vapes and cartridges. With the growing demand for disposable cartridges, Sadler spent nine months searching for the right chemist, perfecting the extraction process and hardware, before he managed to successfully manufacture his vape. This was just the beginning. Having launched under the name Platinum Vape, the company has grown to offer chocolate bars, gummies, flower and pre-rolls, currently branded as Platinum.

Today, at just 29-years-old, Sadler has built Platinum into a high double multi-million dollar operation which is about to expand into the CBD market with a line of products.

Sadler has now devoted his focus on Platinum’s social equity program titled REACT.  The idea behind REACT was to create a way to give back to causes and communities close to his heart, year-round. With six special edition cartridges: Animal Rescue, World Hunger, Veteran Support, Breast Cancer Awareness, Mental Health/Suicide Awareness, and Pediatric Health, a portion of the proceeds from each cartridge will be donated to charities that work to support these causes.
